Note! The Bolo Ties on this page are in the personal collection of the Ugly Otter. Since he can only wear one at a time, and he prefers to wear the one he has had for decades, he has decided to sell the ones listed below. Why not sell if they are not being worn? Let someone else enjoy them.
This Bolo Tie was made by a Navajo lady silversmith
named Betta Lee, at the request of the Ugly Otter. The Ugly Otter has
a similar one that he has worn for decades, and he had so many offers to
buy it (he did not want to sell his) that he had an almost identical one
made by this lady. It measures 7-1/2" tall, and is 3-1/2" wide. It
is all sterling silver, and the cord is woven black leather and is 8mm in
diameter. The Kachina it represents is the "Morning Singer". We
are told that the Morning Singer's job is to go through the Pueblo early
in the morning singing the news of the night. He is also responsible
to notice any hungry children who are not being fed, and see to it that they
get something to eat. You can see more about this fine piece on our
