Warrior Portrait Masks or Ceremonial Masks as they are called, each represents an individual.  Some were used by a culture’s secret society, for instance a war society or a healing society. His face paint was his signature, all could be identified from a great distance.  It's said, these masks are used to watch over and protect it's owner.  Each mask is made with pelts, feathers & hide that would have been available in the area of North American where these men lived.  The faces are hand painted on ceramic, the eyes are life-like, and the pelts are all natural. These masks were made by the Navajo artist "Timmy Begay".  We stumbled across a collection of these & we were told that he has since passed so we won't be getting any more of these, once these are gone they're gone.  Each mask is mounted on a wood back with slot to hang on your wall.
