Dr. Joe Shirley, Jr. is a Native American who is the current President
of the Navajo Nation. He is from Chinle, Arizona. He was elected in November
2002.

Now, back to this remarkable set.
1. The concho belt has seven oval conchos measuring 3" X 2-1/2" and
containing thirty seven stones, and eight butterfly conchos measuring 2-1/4"
X 1-1/8" and containing seventeen stones, and the buckle is about 3-1/2"
X 3" and has fifty six stones. This makes four hundred and fifty one
turquoise stones in the belt! The leather is 1-1/2" wide and is 54
" long, and can be cut to fit.
2. The two bracelets will fit a 6-1/2" to 6-3/4
wrist, and each are 3" wide. Each bracelet has fifty two stones, making
a total of one hundred and four stones in the bracelets.
3. The necklace is 29" long, not counting the
naja. The naja is about 4" tall and 3-1/2" wide and contains eighty
four stones. The twelve "blossoms" each contain 14 stones, which makes
a total of two hundred and fifty two stones in the necklace.
4. There are two finger rings. One is
size 8, one is size 8-1/2. Each measures about 1-3/8" X 1-" on the
top, and each has fourteen stones, for a total of twenty eight stones in
the finger rings.
5. There are two earrings, post type, measuring
about 3" long. Each has twenty stones, making a total of forty stones
for the earrings.
6. The lapel pin measures about 3" in diameter,
and has forty four stones.
7. The stones are honest-to-goodness turquoise
& red coral, and the grand total in this set is nine hundred and
eighteen turquoise & coral stones!
8. The price for the total set is, $5950,
This is about half what you would be expected to pay in some "finer" stores
in Santa Fe or Sedona. The Ugly Otter does not often find anything
to compare with this set, so when he did, he thought he should grab onto
it before some #@#$&^%(*$%#$ beat me to it!
